The LORD is my Light and my Salvation

There are times when life seems so hard and troubles seem to pour in upon us from every hand. God does not seem to be active in helping us and we feel so alone. These are just the times when satan seeks to ‘devour us’ and destroy our peace and our faith. David knew much of this type of situation. Seems like as soon as he was anointed as the future king of Israel by Samuel that his troubles really began! Does that strike a chord in your heart?

But read the Psalm carefully (King James version on purpose as it has more impact) and you will see that the remedy to all the attacks and discouragements for one who loves the Lord was to wait on the Lord. That does not mean just hang about and see if He will do something. Waiting of God means standing firm in faith UNTIL He moves on your behalf.

Note especially verse 13: I had fainted (pressure was that bad)
UNLESS I had ‘Believed to See’ (that means standing in faith UNTIL you SEE God move)
the GOODNESS of God in the land of the living (that is here on earth not in the sweet bye and bye).

Remember, whatever you are going through God will ALWAYS be there (even if it does not ‘feel’ like it) and He will ALWAYS come through with His answer to your need.

So TRUST Him Now and always. He is faithful who promised!

Lord help ME to trust you today and always and to press on in faith UNTIL I see the wonderful answers You already have in store for me.

Step into the Light

As long as you live by the Word of God, you never have to be in the dark again. You never have to remain in confusion about which path to take. You never have to grope blindly along, struggling to find your own way.

Isn’t that great? Isn’t it exciting to know that the Word of God will give you all the light you need every day of your life if you’ll allow it to?

Build your faith in that Word and renew your commitment to it as you make this confession today:

“Father, in the Name of Jesus, I commit myself to walk in Your Word. I recognize that Your Word is integrity itself– steadfast, sure, eternal–and I trust my life to its provisions.

“You have sent Your Word forth into my heart. I let it dwell in me richly in all wisdom. It does not depart out of my mouth; I meditate in it day and night so that I may diligently act on it. Your Word is an incorruptible seed, abiding in my spirit, and it’s growing mightily in me now, producing Your nature, Your life.

“I thank You, Father, that Your Word is my counsel, my shield, my buckler, my powerful weapon in battle. It is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It makes my way straight before me, and I never stumble or fall for my steps are ordered by Your Word.

“I recognize the strategies and deceits of Satan and I put a stop to them by speaking Your Word out of my mouth in faith.

“I am confident, Father, that You are at work in me both to will and to do Your good pleasure. I exalt Your Word. I hold it in high esteem and give it first place in my life. I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation–the living Word of God. Amen!”

Breaking news: Bernanke slams US economy! What to do …

A momentous event just occurred this afternoon:

For the first time in many years, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve went before Congress, set aside his rose-colored glasses, dispensed with most of his sugar-coated platitudes and made some hard-hitting statements about the U.S. economy.

Bernanke on jobs:

“This is the worst labor market since the Great Depression.”

Bernanke on housing:

“The market remains weak, with the overhang of vacant or foreclosed houses weighing on home prices and construction.”

Bernanke on fears about the future:

“Most … viewed uncertainty about the outlook for growth and unemployment as greater than normal, and the majority saw the risks to growth as weighted to the downside.”

Bernanke on tight credit for small businesses:

“Bank loans outstanding have continued to contract. Small businesses, which depend importantly on bank credit, have been particularly hard hit.”

And never forget: All this is coming from a man whose job invariably makes him extremely reluctant to admit to negative trends in any sector at any time — if Bernanke is saying things are bad, you can bet your bottom dollar they’re actually far worse.

My comments: If you have been following my blog you will have read much about the future decline of the USA and the global changes that are shortly to happen. Anyone who understands Bible prophecy knows exactly what the future scenario is. The time-scale is not fully revealed however it is definite that within the time-scale of the generation which sees the nation of Israel once again flourishing and Jerusalem back in Jewish control will be the last generation before the return of Jesus (the Messiah).

The Book of Revelation and the prophecies of Daniel (any many more prophetic statements scattered throughout both old and new testaments are definite and detailed about these so called ‘last days’. Only THIS generation has had any real understanding of most of these prophesies and this generation has seen more of them fulfilled than any other generation — although the new testament and early church understood these things far better than most theologians in between!

This is THE generation. In the world there shall be great darkness and trouble on every hand — but in the true believer great joy and demonstrations of the power of God as the time for the second coming of Jesus draws very near. Don’t worry about the way the world is going. Don’t fear when things get even tougher. God IS in control and Jesus IS coming very soon to rule this earth with justice and total control. But first the Deceiver must have his day… well seven years exactly! During his time the earth and those who dwell on it shall go through the worst years in the whole of history.

This is not the time to worry and fear. This is the time when those who truly know the Lord Jesus Christ put their faith into action and start to reach out in what ever way possible to those around us who are confused and fearful (or in denial and just having a ‘good’ time!) Jesus gave us strict instructions about what we should be doing — especially at this time — “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Are you ready and prepared? Only by personal trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour can you escape the days of terror and be delivered from the days of God’s wrath which will follow. Trust Him NOW! Don’t delay. Things may get difficult but Jesus has promised: ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ (Hebrews 13:5-6) and ‘Lo! I am with you even to the end of the age’ (Matthew 28:18-20)

Renew your mind to think like God thinks

If you think like the world thinks, eventually you will act like the world acts. Unrestrained thoughts produce unrestrained actions. So control your thoughts by bringing them into obedience to the Scriptures.

Program your mind with the Word of God. The Word is spirit and it is life. When your mind is totally saturated with the Word of God, your will becomes strong to exercise authority to overcome every ungodly thought and evil habit.

Don’t let Satan deceive you into sacrificing the glory of God in your life for a few moments of self-indulgence and sin. Restrain your thought life. Meditate the Word instead of selfish, carnal thoughts. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith.

‘Cookie-shaped’ fossils point to multicellular life

Relics of some of the first stirrings of modern life may have been uncovered.

Scientists report in the journal Nature the discovery of centimetre-sized fossils they suggest are the earliest known examples of multicellular life.

The specimens, from Gabon, are 2.1 billion years old – 200 million years older than for any previous claim.

Abderrazak El Albani and colleagues describe the fossils’ distinctive appearance as resembling irregularly shaped “wrinkly cookies”.

The step from single-celled to multicellular organisation was a key step in the evolution of life on Earth and set the scene for the eventual emergence of all complex organisms, including animals and plants.

The big question is whether the new West African specimens truly represent large organisms growing in a co-ordinated manner, or are merely a record of the remains of aggregations of unicellular bacteria.

The team tells Nature that its analysis of the fossils’ three-dimensional structure using X-ray microtomography leans it towards the former explanation.

The fossils would have existed during a period in Earth history that came shortly after the so-called Great Oxidation Event, when free oxygen concentrations in the atmosphere rose rapidly.

My Comments: Just another example of ‘imaginative dating’ being used to make claims of millions of years of age for fossils and then assigning to them significant discovery status.

Another oxygen surge that occurred about half a billion years ago co-incided with the Cambrian Explosion – the huge spurt in evolution that established all the major animal groupings.

“The evolution of the Gabon macrofossils, representing an early step toward large-sized multicellularity, may have become possible by the first boost in oxygen,” Dr El Albani and colleagues said in a statement, “whereas the Cambrian Explosion could have been fuelled by the second.

“Why it took 1.5 billion years for the multicellular organisms to take over is currently one of the great unsolved mysteries in the history of the biosphere.”

A Healthy Dose of Love

Love never fails

Walking in love is good for your health. Did you know that?

It’s true! Medical science has proven it. Researchers have discovered that hostility produces stress that causes ulcers, tension headaches, and a host of other ills.

Now when you think of hostility, you may think of the type of anger you feel when something serious happens. But according to the experts, that kind of thing isn’t what causes the worst problems. It’s the little things: when the dry cleaners ruin your favourite outfit, for example. Or when the cafeteria lady puts gravy on your mashed potatoes after you’ve specifically told her not to. Sound familiar?

Just think how much stress you could avoid by being quick to forgive, by living your life according to 1st Corinthians 13 and not counting up the evils done to you. Imagine physical and emotional benefits of living like that!

If you’ve allowed yourself to be habitually bound by hostility, that may sound like an impossible dream, but it’s not! Because as a born-again believer, you have the love of God inside of you.

If you’ll yield to that love, it will set you free. Remember when Jesus called Lazarus forth from the grave? He was alive but still bound in the grave clothes. Jesus commanded the bindings to be loosed so that Lazarus could be free to walk.

Jesus wants that same kind of freedom for you. So get into agreement with Him. Say to those deadly habits that have you bound, “In the Name of Jesus, loose me and let me go! I’m putting hostility, unforgiveness and selfishness behind me. I’m going on with God. I’m going to live the life of love!”

Remember: It doesn’t take a medical miracle to turn your life around.
All it takes is a decision to yield to the force of love. Do it today!

Earth: ‘Young’ or ‘Old’?

It is some time since I have blogged about the weakness (absence) of scientific proof for the commonly-held theory of evolution of the species and related concepts.

However I recently came across this online article which lists 101 compelling reasons why the millions or billions of years thought necessary by proponents of the evolution of the universe and earth since the so-called ‘Big Bang’ does not match existing scientific data.

Only those blinded by the ‘religious’ zeal and mindset of evolutionists like Richard Dawkins and his ilk can continue to insist that the concept of the evolution of the species has any scientific basis at all. It is a belief system which refuses to accept the possibility of a Creator God not because of lack of proof but because it is in their words ‘unacceptable’. See quote here>

Singing ‘rewires’ damaged brain

Teaching stroke patients to sing “rewires” their brains, helping them recover their speech, say scientists.

By singing, patients use a different area of the brain from the area involved in speech. If a person’s “speech centre” is damaged by a stroke, they can learn to use their “singing centre” instead.

Researchers presented these findings at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in San Diego. An ongoing clinical trial, they said, has shown how the brain responds to this “melodic intonation therapy”.

The therapy is already established as a medical technique. Researchers first used it when it was discovered that stroke patients with brain damage that left them unable to speak were still able to sing.

Making connections

Most of the connections between brain areas that control movement and those that control hearing are on the left side of the brain. “But there’s a sort of corresponding hole on the right side,” said Professor Schlaug.

Music engages huge swathes of the brain – it’s not just lighting up a spot in the auditory cortex. Dr Aniruddh Patel, neuroscientist

“For some reason, it’s not as endowed with these connections, so the left side is used much more in speech. “If you damage the left side, the right side has trouble [fulfilling that role].” But as patients learn to put their words to melodies, the crucial connections form on the right side of their brains.

Previous brain imaging studies have shown that this “singing centre” is overdeveloped in the brains of professional singers. (Surely most Christians do nearly as much singing as professional singers. Theo)

During the therapy sessions, patients are taught to put their words to simple melodies. Professor Schlaug said that after a single session, a stroke patients who was are not able to form any intelligible words learned to say the phrase “I am thirsty” by combining each syllable with the note of a melody. The patients are also encouraged to tap out each syllable with their hands. Professor Schlaug said that this seemed to act as an “internal pace-maker” which made the therapy even more effective.

“Music might be an alternative medium to engage parts of the brain that are otherwise not engaged,” he said.

My Comments: Singing has always held a high place in the worship of God. Throughout both Old and New Testaments ’singing and making melody in our hearts’ is strongly emphasised. This is not just because God is worthy of all our praise but it has a very positive and healing effect on us too.

And as the article above declares singing can have amazing results. Maybe there are spin-offs in our well-being that we are only just discovering. So be sure to always Praise the Lord in every way especially singing God’s praises out loud.

Beijing Agrees to Revalue — Yuan Higher; Dollar Lower!

Next phase of dollar devaluation now underway.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I’ve been warning that Washington would be seeking to devalue the dollar to try and inflate its way out of the great financial crisis, and especially the patently unpayable $133 trillion in IOUs it has.

I’ve also told you — in no uncertain terms — that China would eventually cooperate with Washington to revalue the yuan higher … and that a higher yuan was essentially the same thing as a LOWER dollar. I even featured how China was going to cooperate with Washington in my April 2010 issue of Real Wealth Report.

Now, it’s all coming to pass, in spades. Over the weekend Beijing agreed to depeg its currency from the dollar and start pushing the value of the yuan higher. To do so, China’s central bank will effectively have to start buying its own currency — largely by selling some of its reserve currencies, chiefly the dollar.

Already, the dollar is plunging this morning. Already, gold — which has hit one new record high after another — is leaping again, up more than $7 in early morning trading. Already, the U.S. Treasury bond markets are falling. Already, oil is on fire, jumping more than $1.50 a barrel. And in a sign of times to come, U.S. broad stock markets are rallying on the news.

My Comments: I post this news item in order to highlight the underlying world situation — that the global financial crisis has not gone away and that world events are all coming together to line up with exactly the ‘end time scenario’ that the Bible predicts for the period in history after Israel is established again as a Nation. We are now in that prophetic period — in fact nearly at the end of it. Soon global events will change our world completely… for the worse! But good news: God has a master plan that is right on schedule and that will eventually totally change the evil world system mankind will have devised to the Utopia that man has always desired. Most will tell you stocks are rallying today because China’s revaluation of the yuan means the U.S. can now create more jobs and compete with China. But that’s hogwash and merely a cover for the truth: This is a dollar devaluation, and an attempt to inflate all dollar-denominated assets. Even the stock markets.

Think it through: Washington is telling you this is about creating more jobs in America and that China has had an unfair advantage with an undervalued currency. But there is simply no way the yuan can be pushed up enough to account for wage differentials between the two countries and create millions of jobs in the U.S.

Just ask yourself: How could a $25-an-hour worker in the United States ever compete with a 75-cents-per-day worker in China? China’s currency would have to gain nearly 3,333% to level the playing field on jobs. Even at $12.50 an hour, China’s currency would have to gain over 1,500% to level the playing field. Or, there would have to still be some very punitive trade sanctions against China, which would put the world on the path to a major depression and war.

And quite frankly, although there are some real dummies in Washington, I don’t think they’re stupid enough to put the world on that kind of course.

So this is not about jobs. It’s about the dollar and inflation.

Keep in mind that when a currency strengthens in value, it effectively imports deflation into the country whose currency is rising. Put another way, its currency buys more. Conversely, the currency that is losing value imports inflation, which is precisely what Obama, Geithner and Bernanke want for the U.S.

Bottom line: You are now witnessing Phase II of the Great Dollar Devaluation I have been warning you about.

The Chinese will attempt to “control” the rise in the value of the yuan (and thereby, the devaluation of the dollar). And for a while, they may succeed at slowing down the yuan’s appreciation. But history has repeatedly show that when a country depegs its currency from the dollar, market forces eventually take over, rapidly pushing the undervalued currency higher (the yuan), and the dollar lower.

So while China is talking up a gradual appreciation of the yuan right now, don’t be surprised if they lose control, and the dollar starts to plummet.

Moreover, in the next phase, as the sovereign debt crisis leaps from Europe to the U.S. — you will see the worst of the dollar devaluation occur. Chairman Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve will use the sovereign debt crisis to create trillions of dollars out of thin air, further devaluing the U.S. dollar.

And in the final phase of the great dollar devaluation — you will see countries all over the world actively band together to replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Never forget: We already saw the opening acts of the move to replace the dollar last year, with China, Russia, India and even Japan calling for a new reserve currency.

And this weekend the G20 meet in Toronto, and Russian President Medvedev is already resurrecting the calls for a new world order and new world reserve currency to be put on the table at those G20 meetings.

Just hang on!

Did you know that the battleground for the problem you’re facing right now is in your mind and on your lips? If you’ll hit the devil with the Word and cast the care of the situation over on God, you’ll win.

Let me warn you though, hanging onto the Word isn’t always easy. The devil knows that if he doesn’t steal it from you, you’ll use it to enforce his defeat.

So don’t be surprised if he sends an evil spirit to exalt itself against the Word of God. If you’re sick, he may begin to tell you, “You’re not healed. You know that healing’s not for today. Even if it were, it wouldn’t work for you. It might work for somebody else but not you.”

If he starts to tell you that kind of thing, don’t buy it! Don’t start worrying around about it and thinking, “Oh my, I’m afraid I’m not going to get healed. I sure don’t feel healed. Why, I’m probably going to just get worse and worse….”

Remember this: It’s the Word that does the work, not the one holding onto it. It’ll work for anybody who’ll put it to work. It’ll work for you just like it worked for Jesus when He walked the earth.

He told Satan, “It is written!” No matter what the devil tries to tell you, refuse to let go of the Word. Tell him what is written concerning your situation. Let the Word fight its own fight. It’ll whip the devil every time.
