Missing the Link? I think!

Computer Weekly celebrates the birthday of one of Britain’s greatest sons, Charles Darwin (1809-1882), with our representation of the evolution of the PC. (note: emphasis mine)
In his 1882 book “On the Origin of Species”, Darwin explained how over billions of years simple organisms evolved into the complex life forms we see today.
Computers on the other-hand have evolved at a much faster rate.

Difference Engine Computer 1822

The Difference Engine was an automatic, mechanical calculator designed to tabulate polynomial functions. In 1822, Charles Babbage proposed the use of such a machine. It used the decimal number system and was powered by cranking a handle.

My Comment: I think the writer of the original story misses the whole point here! The theory Darwin made popular — he certainly did not originate the theory — basically majors on things evolving themselves into different things!  Which is difficult if not impossible to prove — contrary to popular belief (note the word ‘belief’).

Computers, however — as anyone knows — were designed and built by a ‘creator’. We would think someone a ‘fool’ who thought otherwise — no matter how ’scientifically’ they tried to explain it. This is both obvious and undeniable!

The same is actually true of all matter both inanimate and animal (or human). The most sensible (if unpalatable) viewpoint is that there must have been a Designer and Creator! — and true science proves this beyond ‘reasonable’ doubt.

Of course this is of no interest if we have unreasonable doubts!
